Since its inception in 1989, Stellar Holding’s U.S. operations have evolved in order to adapt and capitalize on changing market dynamics and economic forces. Responding to a weakened real estate market in the late 1980s, Stellar purchased and renovated a national portfolio of multifamily, retail, office, and hotel properties, which it operated through the early 2000’s. In 2004, after divesting of the majority of its owned assets, Stellar pursued a strategy of joint venture partnerships with the goal of developing sustainable multifamily projects in urban infill areas. Our partnership with real estate developer, Lorig Associates on the Thornton Place project in Seattle is an excellent example of this current strategy as well as our commitment to sustainable development.
